There are many great places to enjoy whisky in Scotland, but few establishments have the atmosphere that the whisky bar inside of the Dornoch Castle has. Tucked underneath the old stone walls of the Dornoch Castle hotel, lies one of the finest Scotch Whiskey lounges in all of the world. If the atmosphere isn’t enough for you, the selection of scotch surely will be.
A good majority the scotch that you will have the opportunity to choose from is unavailable in the states and prices are very reasonable. If you can’t get what you are looking for here, you probably will not be able to find it anywhere in the world. From the household names all the way down to Scotland’s local distilleries, the Dornoch Castle Whisky bar has every level of the industry covered.
During the summer months you can also enjoy some of the local musical talent which is very good almost every night of the week. During my visit to Dornoch this past summer, there were different musicians and bands playing every night of the week and the calendar looked pretty full up until the end of August. The town of Dornoch really supporter the local talent and most of the groups had a very solid following.

If you come to Dornoch I highly recommend you stay at the Dornoch Castle, but if you don’t, you absolutely have to stop by the Whisky Bar a few nights during your stay for some authentic atmosphere, amazing scotch and the local music talent.
